Meet The Staff at Forum Salon
René established Forum Salon throughout the 1980's and early 90's in the New Orleans area. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, he relocated to Baton Rouge. A short two years later, René re-established Forum Salon in Towne Center.
A Matrix educator and platform artist and a private in-salon educator, René has taught classes at Paul Mitchell and Aveda schools and has shared his knowledge and experience with tens of thousands of stylists throughout the country. He has taught color formulation and technique, hair cutting and styling, consultation, and helping clients choose the best home hair care products.
"What I like most is the consultation," René says. "It does two things: First, it tells me what my client's needs and wants are. Second, it tells them who I am, and if they're comfortable with my approach to their new color, highlight, and/or haircut."
While René appreciates and values all his clients, he has a special connection with his clients who have cancer, because he has also battled the disease.
"The haircare industry is always evolving, which makes things fun, different and educational."
A graduate of The Aveda Institute, Maddie has been in the business for six years. She makes it a point to listen to her guests' needs and wants.
"I love how guests will walk into the salon and ask about something new--a new look someone has created. My job is to know what it is, how it works, and how I can create that look for them. If I don’t know, then I will figure it out! The possibilities in this business are endless. That's why I love it!"
Maddie's special interests are in color and highlighting.
We are thrilled to have Sarah Dixon-Laenger back at Forum Salon. Sarah comes to our salon with 15 years of experience in the hair care industry. She has extensive training in precision hair cutting, highlighting, hair coloring, makeup application, and all the latest color techniques, including Ombre', Balayage, and dimensional coloring.
Sarah is available for appointments Tuesday through Friday and some Saturdays.
With 35 years of experience in the hair care industry, Kim Broussard enjoys many aspects of hair styling. Her favorite areas are cutting and coloring.
Rounding out the team at Forum Salon is Doris Davis. A chemical technician and graduate of Dj’s Beauty School, Doris has been in the haircare industry for 34 years. Doris specializes in shampooing, massaging and conditioning treatments.
"I like working with people, and I enjoy our friendly conversations."
Doris' words of wisdom are often the most cherished part of a guest's visit.
